PRIME MINISTER MARAPE AND GOVERNOR OF GUANGDONG,DISCUSS MUTUAL COOPERATION

Following the conclusion of bilateral talks with the National Caoital District Commission (NCDC), Governor Wang Weizhong and delegates from Guangdong Province visited Prime Minister Hon. James Marape at the Manasupe Haus on Thursday.

 

During their meeting, accompanied by NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop, the discussions focused on mutual cooperation in areas such as tourism, agriculture, forestry, mineral resources, trade, investment, and aviation.

 

Governor Weizhong expressed confidence in the potential of the relationship between China and Papua New Guinea, which has been fostered under the comprehensive strategic partnership established in recent years.

 

Prime Minister Marape assured Governor Weizhong of his availability for future communication and encouraged direct engagement with his Cabinet Ministers. He emphasized that PNG is ready to do business with Guangdong, and his government is open to cooperation.

 

The Prime Minister shared his plans to visit China in October, with Guangdong being one of the intended destinations. Governor Weizhong extended his well wishes to Prime Minister Marape and expressed his anticipation for welcoming the Prime Minister to his province.

 

The meeting concluded with an atmosphere of friendship and cooperation, further strengthening the bilateral ties between China and Papua New Guinea.
