NCDC AMPLIFIES PLASTIC POLLUTION AWARENESS AT MOTUAN VILLAGES
PORT MORESBY: Ahead of World Environment Day on June 5, NCDC, in partnership with CEPA and other stakeholders, is conducting a targeted plastic pollution awareness program in five Motuan villages.
Through the screening of the documentary "A Plastic Ocean Movie" and educational talks by CEPA, the program aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic waste on the marine environment and inspire action.
The initiative began with a successful screening at the Vanagi settlement in Moresby South on Thursday evening.
Attendees, including children, youths, and elders, were amazed by the film's insights and expressed gratitude for the awareness.
Residents called upon NCDC to support their efforts in removing plastic waste and safeguarding the environment and marine life for future generations.
This morning, awareness messages on the same were also amplified at Pari Village.
