It will take effect from Tuesday 16th, May to next Tuesday 23rd, May 2023.

The temporary liquor ban is part of the wider operational plan in preparation for the World Leaders’ visit to the city for the two meetings in the city-the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation and the UN-Pacific.

In a press conference at the City Hall today flanked by NCD Liquor Committee members Moresby North-East MP John Kaupa, Sir Luciano Cragnolini, Metropolitan Superintendent Silva Sika and NCDC senior officials, City Manager Ravu Frank said the ban was resolved in their meeting prior to the announcement.
