PORT MORESBY: The festivities of Amazing Port Moresby's Independence celebration reached their zenith with a breathtaking fireworks display lighting up the Ela Beach sky on Saturday evening.
Thousands of city residents gathered along the Beach waterfront, not only to witness the awe-inspiring fireworks but also to come together in peace and unity.
The seafront came to life at 9:20 pm as fireworks ignited the night sky, eliciting cheers of wonder from the onlookers.
Notably, the night's festivities recorded zero security incidents, serving as a testament to the city's residents of all ages respecting one another.
The fireworks extravaganza marked the conclusion of cherished traditions like the flag-raising and flag-lowering ceremonies, culminating in the inaugural National Parade held at the Boulevard.
With the curtains closing on all the celebrations last night, the city bid farewell to another memorable Independence Day.
