DIALOGUES CONTINUE FOR NCD HOSPITAL AND NCDPHA BOARD
PORT MORESBY: NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop today (Tuesday) met with the Health and HIV Minister, Hon. Lino Tom and his secretary, Dr Osborne Liko to finalise the board composition of NCD Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA).
More importantly, they met to advance the progress on the proposed Level-5 Hospital for NCD at Tete in Gerehu.
"I hope to make an announcement soon on our new PHA Board and also our new Hospital.
"The country needs our new hospital to commence and be completed as soon as possible so that Port Moresby General Hospital can be free to become the National Referral and Teaching Hospital.
He said funding earmarked from the Chinese Government and a private bank had been secured already, awaiting Cabinet's approval.
Governor Parkop said the meeting was a follow-up discussion from his previous dialogue with Treasurer Hon. Ian Ling Stuckey last Thursday.
