Health Division comprises of
Health Inspection, Environmental Monitoring and Pollution Control, Health Promotion, Urban Vector Control, Dog Pound, Cemetery, Health Projects and Market Administration
Health Division has an obligatory role of ensuring all health programs are implemented to prevent undesirable health problems from occurring and to promote all health related programs. | Health Inspection |
| This section supervises, coordinates, monitors and conducts food inspection and other health related programs throughout the city. The inspectorial responsibilities are decentralized to three Local Level Government areas to comply with the Reforms. |

| Environmental Monitoring & Pollution Control |
| This section is involved in coordinating and supervision of environmental monitoring, planing, enforcement and control of air, water and land pollution, industrial safety, occupational health and safety, disease control and prevention, and food/ water quality control. |

| Health Promotion |
| This section involves in formulation, coordination and supervision of all health promotion activities in the city. It has conducted consultation visits, health related counselling, TB and HIV screening, food handler's courses and giving health talks to established groups within the city. |

| Urban Vector Control |
| This section coordinates, supervises and carryout all Vector Control activities throughout the city.This includes; Mosquito control, Fogging Operation, Larvicide's Abate, Source Reduction, Aedes Inspection, etc. |
| Dog Pound |
| The management of Dog Pound is outsourced to RSPCA Inc. since May 2006. RSPCA is responsible for the control of stray animals in the city. |
| Market Administration |
| Market administration is jointly managed by Revenue, Security, Property and Admin and Health Divisions. Health Division took charge of all NCD Markets as of 14th November 2002. The objectives are:
Development of Strategies to improve market facilities and its operationImplement awareness campaign against littering by way of enforcement under Market Rules; Ensure harmonious and peaceful interpersonal relations within the markets; and todevelop and maintain appropriate cleaning system for all city markets.
We have currently 9 Established Markets, 5 Mini Markets, 22 Proposed Mini Markets and 4 illegal Markets in the city. |

| Informal Sector Markets |
| These are application types for developments that fall under any of the clauses of the instrument of delegation approved by the NCDPPB in 1999. These are application types that would normally go before the Board for consideration but delegated. However, those developments can only be granted approval under delegated powers if the value of development is K250, 000 and less. The Manager, Development Control certifies the application and the Director, Regulatory Services signs off. |
